We bid adieu to Ramzan today, and with full gaiety, we celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr tomorrow. And with the end of this holy month, this practice of helping the travelling rojdars (Muslims, who are fasting) open their fast will come to an end. At many places, prevails this custom, where volunteers of charitable organisations stand on the street with glasses of Rooh Afza sharbat, khajoor (dates), chickpeas and pakoras, and offer them to the people fasting, as they fail to reach home on time to open their fast. Volunteers of the NGO, Real Cause has been doing this noble deed for many years at the corner of the Zakir Nagar slope, behind New Friends Colony A block in Delhi.
